Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker x Ninja is Capcom's 2007 sequel for the Nintendo DS, built by the team behind the Mega Man Battle Network series. Geo Stelar and his partner Mega return to face a fresh set of enemies, led by the mysterious Rogue, who threatens the peace of the Wave World by setting loose hordes of rampaging viruses. It falls to the two of them to put a stop to it. Mega Man Star Force 2 arrived with an upgraded interface, new device customization and a reworked Transer system, and this version pairs the Zerker and Ninja forms.

Like the first game, Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker x Ninja mixes role playing exploration with quick action, moving you between two worlds that sit on top of each other: the physical world where people live and the virtual Wave World where data flows. You travel, talk, follow leads and then drop into the Wave World to fight. Battles happen on a grid of three rows and five columns, where you line up with enemies and play from your Battle Card deck to attack, defend and chain moves together. The upgraded Transer gives you more room to tune Mega Man to your taste, and friends can link up to battle and trade.

Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker x Ninja is the middle chapter of the trilogy and, for a lot of players, the point where the series found its footing. The transformations give each run its own rhythm, and the deck building keeps fights interesting long after the story ends. Collectors chase it for a second reason: it comes in paired versions, so a shelf feels unfinished without it. If you love Battle Network, Mega Man Star Force 2 is the natural next stop.
